Hereford, AZ – An early Saturday morning collision involving a motorcycle claimed the life of one person in Hereford.
According to a report by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident took place on Highway 92 near milepost 326 on Saturday, February 21.
The AZDPS report reveals that a tractor-trailer traveling on SR 92 was attempting to make a left turn when it was rear-ended by the motorcyclist just south of Sierra Vista. The report did not indicate which directions the motorcycle and the big rig were headed just prior to the collision.
Emergency crews arrived shortly after receiving reports of the collision. The motorcyclist, whose identity was not released, was confirmed deceased at the site of the accident.
The driver of the big rig was not injured and stayed at the scene after the collision. The driver’s name was also not released.
Authorities are still gathering more information as they try to figure out what led up to the deadly motorcycle crash and further details are expected to be released.
