Los Angeles, CA – Authorities have launched investigations into an incident where a Metro A Line train struck and injured a pedestrian at a station in Downtown Los Angeles on Monday evening.
According to a report by the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident took place at about 5:44 p.m. February 23, at the 7th Street station.
The train reportedly struck a 50-year-old man on the tracks for unspecified reasons. The man was trapped in the incident and had to be extricated from the tracks by the firefighters.
The LAFD paramedics transported the man to a hospital with serious injuries. The man’s identity was not immediately released by the authorities.
No one else was reported to have been injured in the accident.
The LA Metro officials urged riders to alternatively use the J Line as the crash led to delays on the Metro A Line tracks.
Authorities have not released further details on the incident, which remains under investigation.
