Hesperia, CA – The man who died in a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on Phelan Road in Hesperia on Tuesday morning has been identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.

Patrick Trask, of Hesperia, was killed in the wreck that took place west of Highway 395 at around 11:47 a.m. February 10.

According to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, a silver GMC 2500 and a black 2005 Buell motorcycle driven by Trask were involved in the crash. The two are believed to have crashed on the eastbound side of Phelan Road.

A Good Samaritan who was nearby rendered aid to Trask before deputies and firefighters arrived at the scene. The sheriff’s deputies took over the life-saving efforts but were unsuccessful and Trask was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man driving the truck and his female passenger were uninjured in the accident and remained at the scene.

Hesperia, CA – One person died in a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Phelan Road in Hesperia on Tuesday morning, according to the authorities.

The wreck took place west of Highway 395 at about 11:47 a.m. February 10.

According to authorities, a silver GMC 2500 and a black 2005 Buell motorcycle were involved in the incident. The two are believed to have collided in the eastbound lanes of Phelan Road.

A Good Samaritan rendered aid to the motorcyclist before deputies and firefighters arrived at the scene. The deputies took over the life-saving efforts but were unsuccessful.

The motorcyclist was soon after declared deceased at the scene. No identifying details on the rider were immediately released.

The man driving the pickup and a woman inside the truck were not injured in the incident and remained at the scene.

The truck, which had major frontal damage, came to a rest on the eastbound side and partially off the side of the roadway. The motorcycle was totally damaged with some of its parts scattered across all lanes of travel.

The eastbound and westbound lanes of Phelan Road were shut down for several hours as a result of the collision and on-scene investigations.

Limited details on the incident were available and authorities are still working to find out what led up to the collision.
