Byron, CA – Major injuries were reported after a two-vehicle crash on Altamont Pass Road in the Byron area Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

CHP dispatch logs indicate that a white 2013 Kia Optima and a black sedan were involved in a head-on collision that resulted in heavy damage to both vehicles and all lanes being blocked.
At least one person was seriously injured in the crash. No arrests were reported in connection with the incident.
