Phoenix, AZ – The woman who was killed in a car collision that happened early Tuesday morning in west Phoenix has been identified by the Phoenix Police Department.

According to a preliminary investigation, a vehicle was traveling north on 35th Avenue when it collided with a second car traveling south. Details on the events leading up to the accident were not immediately released.
Officers from the Phoenix Police Department and fire crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the crash and they found two parties with major injuries.
A passenger in one of the cars was rushed to a hospital, where she was later declared deceased. The deceased woman was later identified as Jones.
Both drivers were transported to a hospital and one of them was believed to have suffered serious injuries.
Both vehicles sustained major damage in the crash and left debris scattered across the roadway.
Authorities reported that impairement may have been a factor in the incident. The Phoenix Police Department is conducting an investigation into the collision.
