The collision occurred in the 1400 block of S. Euclid Avenue at approximately 9:56 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

According to authorities, an 86-year-old man, identified as Rogelio Velasquez Varela, was involved in a pedestrian collision in the area.

Varela, a resident of Ontario, was transported to Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Ontario, where he was later pronounced dead. No information about any vehicle drivers being arrested in connection with the incident was provided by authorities.
