A preliminary investigation determined that the box truck crashed head-on with a Tesla and the impact caused the box truck to roll over
Yountville, CA – Injuries were reported in a head-on collision involving a box truck on Highway 29 north of Yountville on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened at the intersection of Washington Street at around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21.
A preliminary investigation determined that the box truck crashed head-on with a Tesla and the impact caused the box truck to roll over. It’s unclear what caused the vehicles to collide.
The CHP and fire crews arrived at the scene shortly after and evaluated the parties involved in the accident.
There were reports of minor injuries in the incident. Authorities did not specify how many people were hurt or if they needed to be taken to a hospital.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 29 were temporarily shut down as authorities worked to clear the scene. All lanes were reopened as of 11 a.m.
Further investigations to determine the cause of the accident are ongoing and the California Highway Patrol will release more details on the incident.
