Santa Clarita, CA – At least one person died, and another was injured in a two-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday evening near an intersection in Santa Clarita.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 6:20 p.m. on December 6 in the 8500 block of Sierra Highway south of Anthony Road near Agua Dulce.
An Acura sedan and a Toyota RAV4 SUV were involved in the accident. The sedan may have been traveling the wrong way on Sierra Highway when it collided with the SUV. Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage.
Firefighters from nearby Fire Station 81 responded to the scene and freed one person who was trapped inside one of the cars. The patient was transported to a trauma center in unknown condition.
The driver of the sedan died in the accident.
Traffic lanes in the area were closed following the crash until around 10 p.m.
The CHP Newhall Office is investigating the collision.
