Newhall, CA. – Two minors were killed in a car crash in Newall on Christmas Day.
According to the California Highway Patrol in a press release, the accident happened around 2:56 p.m. on the northbound I-5, south of Vista Del Lago Road.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a gold Toyota RAV4 was stopped in the center median waiting for a family member when it was struck by a northbound Nissan Rogue, carrying two adults and six minors.
The impact of the collision caused three minors to be ejected from the Nissan.
Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, two of the minors were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan was arrested at the scene for felony child endangerment and was later booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Station in Santa Clarita.
More details about the accident were not released.
