San Marcos, CA – One pedestrian was killed after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing the roadway late Saturday night, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.
The fatal pedestrian crash occurred in the 900 block of West San Marcos Boulevard near Park Place at approximately 11:41 p.m. on December 13, 2025.
Investigators said Benjamin Lo Cicero, a 34-year-old man from Encinitas, was walking across the street when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling along West San Marcos Boulevard.
Lo Cicero sustained critical injuries and remained at the scene as emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures. He was pronounced deceased at approximately 11:58 p.m. No arrests were reported, and the driver remained at the scene.
The official cause of death has not yet been determined, and the manner of death remains pending as the investigation continues.
Law enforcement officers and fire personnel responded after a 911 call reported the pedestrian collision. Paramedics rendered emergency aid upon arrival, but the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
