San Luis Obispo, CA – The San Luis Obispo Police Department has identified a pedestrian who was killed in an accident in San Luis Obispo on Wednesday morning.
Maria Dolores Harper Morgan, 70, of San Luis Obispo, was killed in the incident that occurred before dawn on Wednesday, December 17, on Santa Rosa Street near Montalban Street.
According to investigators, Morgan was walking across Santa Rosa Street when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a 66-year-old San Luis Obispo resident.
Police and firefighters responded to the incident and performed life-saving measures on Morgan. Despite their efforts, Morgan succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene after the accident and cooperated with the investigators. Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the crash, police said.
There were no further details on the incident. The San Luis Obispo Police Department is investigating the accident.
