Pacoima, CA – One person was killed in a collision with a semi-truck on a 5 Freeway interchange in Pacoima early Sunday morning, according to California Highway Patrol log.
The wreck was reported at around 3:43 a.m. December 21, near the transition from northbound 5 Freeway to southbound 170 Freeway.
CHP said the collision was between a semi-truck and a sedan. The manner in which the two collided was not immediately determined.
The authorities arrived at the scene shortly after and ascertained that one person had died at the scene. It has not yet been determined which of the two vehicles the deceased individual was traveling in at the time of the incident.
The identity of the person killed was not available in the report. At least two northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway interchange were shut down as authorities investigated the incident.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
