Carpinteria, CA. – 27-year-old Charles Dylan Martin died after he was struck by a truck while riding a motorcycle near Carpenteria, the Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Bureau reported.

The accident occurred around 7:35 a.m., December 5, on the northbound Highway 101 near Padaro Lane.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Martin was riding a Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with a white Ford F-250 work truck. The rider was thrown from the bike into the truck bed.

Emergency personnel transported Martin to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The report did not mention the day that the victim died.

The crash is under investigation.
