Car crash trends in Huntington Beach show that the city consistently experiences a significant number of traffic accidents, with approximately 1,000 fatal or injury accidents annually. While statewide accident rates in California saw a peak in 2021 followed by a slight decline, accident rates in busy urban areas like Huntington Beach remain a persistent concern. The city is a high-risk area within Orange County, which itself is one of California’s most accident-prone regions.  A notable trend is the concentration of collisions at specific, high-traffic intersections. Several of Orange County’s most dangerous intersections are located in Huntington Beach, including Ellis & Newland, Gothard & Heil, and Magnolia & Yorktown. Major thoroughfares like Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway also frequently see accidents, often due to high traffic volume, speed, and proximity to shopping areas and freeway ramps.
