Menifee, CA. – A juvenile skateboarder was injured after being struck by a car in Menifee on Monday evening.
According to the Menifee Police Department, the accident happened around 9:35 p.m. at Murrieta and Murphy Ranch roads.
The Menifee teenager was riding a non-motorized skateboard southbound on Murrieta when he entered the intersection and was hit by a motorist in a Honda Civic.
The juvenile was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from the skateboard.
The teen sustained injuries to his head, along with abrasions to his arm, and was treated at the accident scene before being taken to a regional trauma center.
The teen was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
The driver of the car and a passenger remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Police do not believe drugs or alcohol are contributing factors.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
