Menifee, CA. – A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition after he allegedly ran a red light and triggered a multi-vehicle collision in Menifee.
Two other people were also injured in the crash that happened around 8:30 p.m. at Domenigoni Parkway and Lindberger Road.
According to the Menifee Police Department, the Murrieta teenager was driving a Ford Mustang at a high rate of speed westbound on Domenigoni when he ran through a flashing red signal at Lindberger.
The driver lost control and collided with a Honda Civic and a Honda Accord.
The Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene and found the teen with severe life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a regional trauma center and admitted in critical condition.
Menifee police said the 41-year-old Menifee man driving the Civic was also hospitalized with moderate injuries.
The 52-year-old Menifee man behind the wheel of the Accord sustained minor injuries that did not require hospitalization.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
