
Madras, OR. – Four people were hurt in a collision between two vehicles near the Madras Airport in Madras on Monday morning, the Oregon State Police reported.
The wreck happened on Highway 26 nearly three miles north of the Madras Airport at around 6:20 a.m. on December 1, 2025.
According to OSP, a Chrysler van was heading east on Highway 26 when it drifted into the westbound side and collided head-on with an oncoming Freightliner box truck.
The driver of the van and two passengers in the vehicle sustained serious injuries in the crash. The patients were transported to St. Charles Madras for treatment. The operator of the box truck was also taken to the hospital but the extent of their injuries was not specified.
The accident caused the closure of Highway 26 for nearly four hours as authorities worked to clear the scene. The Oregon State Police is investigating the accident.
