
San Ysidro, CA.- An 82-year-old man was struck and severely injured by a vehicle in San Ysidro on Saturday, according to a report by the San Diego Police Department.
The accident happened in the 200 block of East San Ysidro Boulevard on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
According to SDPD, the pedestrian was attempting to cross East San Ysidro Boulevard mid-block when he was hit by a 2011 Jeep Liberty. The Jeep, driven by a 71-year-old, had exited the freeway and was traveling westbound when it struck the pedestrian in the roadway.
The pedestrian sustained critical injuries including a brain bleed and a pelvic fracture. He was transported to a hospital for treatment. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident, police reported. The San Diego Police Department is investigating the accident.
