Spokane, WA.- Eric Rideout, 22, of Spokane, has been identified as the driver who died earlier this month when his vehicle drifted off Walnut Street in Spokane, according to the Spokane Police Department. Authorities believe speed caused Rideout to lose control and crash into trees on the side of the roadway.
The deadly collision was reported at about 9:15 a.m. on November 17, 2025, in the area of 8th Avenue and Walnut Street. Authorities responded to the scene and helped extricate the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
According to SPD, Rideout was driving northbound approaching 8th Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he left the roadway and slammed into two trees. Rideout was temporarily pinned in the car and was rescued by the Spokane Fire Department crews and the Spokane Police Department. He was declared deceased at the scene.
Rideout’s family has organized a GoFundMe account to aid his family. The SPD is investigating the accident.
