San Bernardino, CA – One person was seriously injured after a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the 210 Freeway in San Bernardino on Wednesday afternoon, as per the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The major injury crash happened on Interstate 210 near Waterman Avenue in San Bernardino at approximately 1:02 PM.

CHP reports indicate a female pedestrian was walking in the middle lanes of the freeway against traffic when she was hit by a white Toyota. Witnesses said she moved from the right shoulder into the lanes before the collision.

The unidentified female pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

No other people were reported injured, and no arrests were made.

Officials confirmed that traffic lanes were briefly blocked but have since reopened

The cause of the pedestrian accident remains under investigation.
