Around 11:10 p.m. October 18, police were notified of a hit-and-run collision at Fairgrounds Road and Casa Verde Way.
Monterey, CA. – 40-year-old Ulises Hernandez of Madera was arrested after several hit-and-run crashes left one person injured Saturday in Monterey, authorities reported.
Around 11:10 p.m. October 18, police were notified of a hit-and-run collision at Fairgrounds Road and Casa Verde Way.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Hernandez had attended a party at the Monterey County Fairgrounds earlier that day.
He was traveling east on Fairgrounds Road in a red Toyota Corolla when he reportedly rear-ended a silver Honda Pilot.
The driver of the Honda got out of the car and attempted to speak with Hernandez, but Hernandez reversed his car and drove away.
While Hernandez was fleeing, he reportedly hit a parked Honda CR-V along the north curb of Fairgrounds Road.
Officers responded to the scene of the first crash for an investigation. While they were investigating, they received reports of a crash near 2100 North Fremont Street.
Hernandez’s vehicle reportedly struck a parked silver Honda CR-V.
After that crash, Hernandez left his car and fled on foot. Police officers found two pairs of brass knuckles in the suspect’s car.
Police eventually located Hernandez at a nearby hotel on Sunday morning.
Hernandez was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail. He was booked on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury, hit-and-run, driving without a license, and possession of metal knuckles. His bail was set at $10 000.
