Palm Springs, CA.– A man from New York was hit and killed by a vehicle in Palm Springs on Friday night, according to the authorities.
The incident took place on Palm Canyon Drive and Via Las Palmas shortly after 9:30 p.m. September 26.
According to police, the pedestrian was walking east across Palm Canyon Drive when he was hit by a southbound vehicle.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
He was identified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office as Craig Von Bargen, 74, of New York.
The identity of the involved driver was not immediately released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing
