Davis, CA – The authorities have released the name of a motorcycle rider who died in a crash involving a big rig in Davis early Tuesday.
The County-Coroner identified the deceased rider as Christopher Barr, a 42-year-old Dixon resident.
According to CHP, a Volvo tractor with trailers was traveling in the middle lane of I-80, passing through a construction zone, when a Harley-Davidson, operated by Barr, failed to slow or stop and crashed into the rear of the tractor.
Barr was ejected and was struck by another vehicle.
Barr was pronounced dead at the scene.

Davis, CA – A motorcyclist died in a traffic collision that happened early Tuesday morning on a freeway in Davis, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident occurred around 4:48 a.m. on the eastbound 80 Freeway near the Mace Boulevard on-ramp.
A motorcyclist and two other vehicles, including a possible dump truck, were involved in the collision. The driver of the dump truck allegedly fled the scene.
The motorcyclist died in the collision.
All lanes of the eastbound 80 Freeway through Davis were closed following the accident.
