Compton, CA. – One person died in a rollover accident that happened early Monday morning in Compton, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident occurred around 12:08 a.m. on the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway near the Alameda Street exit.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash.
One of the cars left the roadway and overturned onto its roof, with several occupants inside.
CHP officers and Compton Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.
The firefighters took several minutes to free the victims from one of the cars.
One person died in the collision.
It was unclear if any other person was injured.
CHP closed all lanes of the eastbound freeway during the investigation.
