El Cajon, CA – One person was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Chase Avenue in El Cajon early Sunday morning, according to the San Bernardino Police Department.

The Medical Examiner’s office identified the deceased party as 50-year-old Jim Misao Frazee.

The deadly crash happened at about 12:58 a.m. on August 17 in the 400 block of Chase Avenue

Investigators said an SUV reportedly left the roadway and traveled on the sidewalk before hitting a utility pole, a fire hydrant, and a person who was lying on the sidewalk.

The vehicle drove away after the incident.

Reportedly, a nearby security guard found the decedent on the scene and contacted emergency services.

Law enforcement and paramedics responded to the scene. The paramedics pronounced the person, later identified as Jim Frazee, dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
