Hanford, CA – One person was killed Friday night after a car crashed into a canal full of water near Hanford, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash happened around 10:13 p.m. on August 15 at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Jackson Avenue.
CHP said a man was driving a 2021 Polaris Razor westbound through a dirt field, towards a water-filled canal. For unknown reasons, he drove the car into the canal.
One of the four people in the Polaris was killed in the crash. Three others were able to get out of the Polaris with minor to major injuries. Two of them were taken to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment.
Alcohol or drugs were suspected to have been factors in the crash.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
