Officers responded to the scene and located a man who had apparently been hit by a vehicle while collecting bottles

South LA, CA.– A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in South Los Angeles early Monday morning.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers received a call at about 1:23 a.m. about an accident in the area of South San Pedro Street and East 95th Street.
Officers responded to the scene and located a man who had apparently been hit by a vehicle while collecting bottles.
A preliminary investigation found that a vehicle was heading south on San Pedro Street when it struck the bicyclist, then fled the scene.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the site of the collision.
There were descriptions of the suspect or vehicle involved.
The LAPD officers are investigating the incident.
