Desert Hot Springs, CA – A motorcyclist is dead and two other people are injured following a major collision on Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs Saturday morning, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.

The deadly collision happened at about 7:39 a.m. on northbound Palm Drive, about 150 feet south of Dillion Road, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Desert Hot Springs PD said the crash involved a motorcycle and a vehicle.

The police said the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner identified the deceased rider as Christopher Ventura, a 21-year-old man from Desert Hot Springs.

The driver and a passenger of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department said a preliminary investigation showed that intoxication was not a factor in the incident.

The Desert Hot Springs Police Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the crash.
