Bakersfield, CA – A male pedestrian was fatally injured in a hit-and-run crash on Westside Parkway in Bakersfield Saturday morning.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the grisly wreck was reported at around 6:23 a.m. on May 3 in the eastbound Westside Parkway near Mohawk Street.

A vehicle driven by 51-year-old Tomice Fryman struck the man before fleeing the scene.

The unidentified man was found dead at the crash site.

Fryman was later located at around 3:30 p.m. on May 3 in the 7300 block of Stockdale Highway and was arrested for charges related to hit-and-run causing dead and driving with suspended license.

No further information about the crash was provided.

An investigation is underway.
