Nipton, CA – One person was killed in a head-on multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 15 in Nipton Wednesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 9:56 p.m. on 15 Freeway, just north of Kelbaker Road.
A preliminary investigation revealed a wrong-way driver struck a vehicle in the fast lane before colliding with other vehicles, including the semi-truck.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and another individual had to be extricated from their vehicle.
A third individual involved in the crash did not sustain injuries.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
