Lincoln County, OR – The Oregon State Police has identified a victim killed in a multi-vehicle collision that injured Brandon Lavon Gilman,34, of Willamina, and Tayler Harrell,27, of Poplarville, on Highway 18 in Lincoln County Friday evening as Mark Joseph Sutherland, 64, of Portland.

The collision was reported at around 5:22 p.m. on February 28 on State Route 18 near milepost 9.

A preliminary investigation indicated a westbound Dodge Ram 1500, operated by Sutherland failed to drive within its lane and entered the eastbound lane of travel.

A Toyota Rav4 driven by Harrell was traveling within the eastbound lane when it was sideswiped by the Dodge. A Chevrolet Suburban operated by Gilman was traveling within the eastbound lane when the Dodge collided with it head-on.

Sutherland was declared deceased at the scene.

Harrell was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Gilman was airlifted to an emergency medical center with serious injuries.

The incident impacted the highway for several hours.

No further information about the crash was provided.
