Tempe, AZ – One person was killed and another seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision on 10 Freeway in Tempe Saturday afternoon.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the mishap happened just before 1 p.m. on Interstate 10 near Broadway Road.
The police said multiple vehicles were involved in the crash.
Two people were taken to the hospital with severe injuries, where one of them was pronounced dead.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The eastbound lanes of the freeway were temporarily closed during the on-site investigation but later reopened at around 4 p.m.
DPS is investigating what led up to the crash.
