Santa Ana, CA.– Juan Lopez Peñuelas, 37, was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident that happened in Santa Ana on January 22, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
The crash happened on First Street and Harbor Boulevard at about 6:15 p.m.
Police reported that Peñuelas, of San Clemente, was walking south across First Street when an eastbound vehicle struck him.
Emergency crews performed life-saving measures on Peñuelas, before he was rushed to a hospital.
Despite the efforts to save him, Peñuelas succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was not suspected of DUI.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
