Jesus Toriz Dies in El Cajon Car Accident on 8 Freeway
El Cajon, CA – The identity of a motorist killed in a crash late last year December on Interstate 8 in El Cajon has been identified as 79-year-old Jesus Toriz of National City, according to the San Diego County Coroner’s Office.
The police said the crash was reported at around 2:20 p.m. December 28, 2024.
Toriz was driving a Honda SUV eastbound on the freeway. The decedent then stopped his vehicle on the highway due to traffic conditions prior to a Jeep SUV colliding with a VW sedan to the rear of the Honda and subsequently striking the Toriz’s vehicle.
Toriz was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital and later died of his injuries.
The wreck remains under investigation.
