San Diego, CA. – A pedestrian was seriously injured in an early Monday morning crash on Interstate 5 in San Diego.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at around 2:15 a.m. on the 5 Freeway at State Route 54.

Police said three separate traffic crashes happened in the area.

The first incident involved two vehicles with minor injuries, the second one involved two cars with no injuries, and the third one was a pedestrian with a vehicle.

The cause of the crash was not immediately established.

The unidentified pedestrian suffered severe injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
