According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 12:54 p.m. on northbound Highway 101, just south of Alvarado Road.

Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 101 in Monterey County Leaves 1 Seriously Hurt

Monterey County, CA. – One person sustained severe injuries in a traffic collision that took place Saturday afternoon in San Ardo, Monterey County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 12:54 p.m. on northbound Highway 101, just south of Alvarado Road.

A black Honda Civic and another car were involved in the crash.

Reportedly, the second car collided with the Civic in the southbound lanes, veered across the northbound lanes, and went about 100 feet down in a gully. The car allegedly rolled several times.

One person got trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the victim. The person was taken to Natividad Medical Center with a broken ankle and the complaint of pain to the chest.

CHP officers are investigating the accident.
