1 Killed, 1 injured in Costa Mesa Crash on Victoria Street and Placentia Avenue
Costa Mesa, California (January 5, 2021) – One person was killed in a crash that happened in Costa Mesa on Tuesday night, according to the authorities.
The incident happened on Victoria Street and Placentia Avenue at about 11:26 p.m. January 4.
Authorities said a truck traveling east on Victoria Street crashed into a traffic pole, before overturning and catching fire.
A pedestrian who was in the area was struck in the process.

The medics who responded to the scene determined that the pedestrian had died from their injuries.
The driver of the truck was treated and transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
All lanes of Victoria Street were closed for the investigation.
It’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.
