Madera County, CA – A man was killed and a woman injured in a major crash at an intersection in Madera County on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Avenue 21 at Road 28 1/2 on Thursday, May 21.
The authorities reported that a man was driving a Ford Escape southbound on Road 28 1/2 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a Jeep that was traveling west on Avenue 21.
The impact of the crash caused the Ford to strike a tree on the side of the intersection.
The driver of the Ford, who was not immediately identified, died in the collision.
The woman driving the Jeep was taken to a hospital with moderate to major injuries. The woman was also not named in the CHP report.
Investigations revealed that alcohol and drugs were not suspected as factors in the accident.
The California Highway Patrol is handling an ongoing investigation into the collision.
