Greenfield, CA – A 12-year-old riding an e-bike was severely injured in a collision with a vehicle in Greenfield on Wednesday afternoon, according to a report by the Greenfield Police Department.

The accident occurred in the 300 block of Thorpe Avenue on Wednesday, May 20.

Investigators reported that the boy was riding an e-bike the wrong way on Thorpe Avenue when he collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Emergency responders responded to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the collision.

The boy, who was not wearing a helmet, was flown to a Bay Area hospital with serious injuries and was expected to survive.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. According to police, the driver was not suspected of being impaired and was not arrested.

The Greenfield Police Department is handling an ongoing investigation into the incident.
