Exeter, CA – Two people were injured, one seriously, following a collision involving a semi-truck and another vehicle on State Route 65 in the Exeter area late Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP dispatch logs indicate the collision involved a semi-truck and another unidentified vehicle that overturned onto its side in nearby fields. Authorities said all lanes were blocked following the crash.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found at least one party trapped inside a vehicle. Firefighters began extrication efforts to remove the driver from the wreckage.
CHP later confirmed one person sustained major injuries and was transported by fire personnel for medical treatment. At least one other person had minor injuries, police said.
Officials also requested a hard closure of SR-65 between Avenue 242 and Avenue 260 as crews worked the scene. Caltrans personnel responded to assist with the roadway shutdown and traffic control operations.
Tow trucks were called to recover the overturned vehicles, including a fire truck that reportedly went off the roadway onto its side during the incident response.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
