Apple Valley, CA. – A 29-year-old Victorville woman died after being struck by a car on Friday night in Apple Valley.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 9 p.m. at Central and Ottawa roads.
Authorities say Claudia Alexa Avila was standing in the northbound lane of Central Road at the intersection with Ottawa Road when she was struck by a gray Lexus IS250.
The woman died from her injuries at the scene, according to the San Bernardino County coroner’s officials.
Central Road was shut down near the crash site for about three hours as the scene was cleared.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
