Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 121 in Sonoma County Leaves Driver Dead

Sonoma County, CA. – A woman was killed in a head-on crash involving a big rig that happened Thursday morning in Schellville, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened about 7:30 a.m. on Highway 121 near Burndale Road.

Authorities said a Jeep traveling south on the highway crossed the double-yellow lines and collided head-on with a commercial gravel truck hauling two trailers.

A DirecTV van traveling behind the Jeep also struck the big rig following the initial crash.

The woman driving the Jeep was trapped inside the car. Rescuers attempted to extricate the victim, but she was already deceased.

The drivers of the big rig and the van were not hurt.

Highway 121 was closed for about four-and-a-half hours while California Highway Patrol investigated and cleared the scene.
