Newberry Springs, CA – A woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Newberry Springs on Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Interstate 40, just east of National Trails Highway at around 9:15 a.m.
A red small SUV reportedly crashed and rolled over on the westbound side of the interstate.
The woman driving the vehicle was pinned in the wreckage.
She was pronounced deceased at the site of the accident.
Her identity was not immediately released.
The CHP is handling the investigation.
