Willits, CA – Injuries were reported in a collision on State Route 162 near Willits on Thursday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol log.
At around 9:39 a.m. February 26, authorities received reports of a collision on SR 162, nearly one mile east of the Highway 101 intersection.
According to the CHP log, a black Jeep and a gray Toyota Camry were involved in the wreck. It’s still unclear what caused the vehicles to collide on the westbound side of SR 162.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after and medics evaluated the involved parties.
A passenger riding in the Jeep was treated for a minor arm injury. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
The Camry had a blown out front tire and had to be towed from the scene. The vehicle came to a rest partially blocking the westbound side of SR 162.
Drivers traveling westbound were informed to expect delays as authorities worked to clear the scene.
No further details on the crash were available. The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
