Visalia, CA – A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Riggin Avenue in Visalia on Sunday night.
According to the Visalia Police Department, the incident was reported at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, near Akers Street.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Christina Torres, 38, was driving an SUV that left the roadway and slammed into a telephone pole.
A woman riding as a passenger was ejected from the car. Despite life-saving measures performed on her, she was declared deceased at the scene of the accident.
Torres was not injured in the crash. However, she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
