Lane County, OR – The Oregon State Police has identified Vincent George Canham, 84, of Eugene, as a victim killed in a head-on crash in Lane County Friday afternoon.

The deadly wreck was reported at around 3:15 p.m. on November 7, 2025, on State Route 569 near milepost 0.

The initial investigation revealed that a westbound Honda Accord driven by Russell Fredrick Moncrief, 52, of Eugene, suddenly braked and was rear-ended by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by Scott Allen Zipprich (52) of Elmira.

The impact forced the Chevrolet into the eastbound lane, where it collided head-on with an eastbound Dodge Stratus driven by Canham.

The operator of the Honda, Moncrief,  was reportedly uninjured.

The operator of the Chevrolet, Zipprich,  was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Canham died after being rushed to an area hospital. A passenger in the Dodge, Rolf Bertel Johansson, 77, of Sweden, was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The highway was impacted for about 8 hours as officers investigated the scene.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
