Los Angeles, CA – A popular video game developer has been identified as one of the two people who were sadly killed in a car accident near Altadena on Sunday afternoon, according to the authorities.
55-year-old Vince Zampella, the co-creator of the ‘Call of Duty' video game, reportedly died following the accident that took place at about 12:43 p.m. December 21, on Angeles Crest Highway near mile marker 62.
According to the authorities, a 2026 Ferrari 296 GTS was southbound on the highway when, for undetermined reasons, it drifted off the roadway. The vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier and burst into flames.
The CHP and the Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded to the site of the accident shortly after.
The driver, who was trapped in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger was ejected. Authorities reported that the passenger succumbed to their injuries at a hospital.
Both directions of Angeles Crest Highway were shut down to allow for the investigations to be conducted.
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident.
