Preliminary reports indicate that a 64-year-old man from Gardena was hit by a BNSF train near the Victorville Transit Center

Victorville, CA – A man was fatally hit by a train near an intersection in Old Town Victorville on Friday afternoon.
According to a report by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the wreck took place near 6th and D streets at around 4:28 p.m. May 8.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 64-year-old man from Gardena was hit by a BNSF train near the Victorville Transit Center. The events leading up to the accident, including why the pedestrian was on the tracks, were yet to be established.
Authorities reported that the pedestrian was confirmed deceased at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of the next-of-kin.
No one on the train appeared to have been injured in the collision.
The accident led to the closure of 6th Street between E Street and D Street as authorities investigated the incident.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is handling the ongoing investigation.
