Victorville, CA – One pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening in Victorville, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators determined that Jimmy Jones Jr., 60, a homeless resident of Victorville, walked into the right-hand lane of the northbound side of Seventh Street just moments before the impact. Sheriff’s officials reported that a black Chevrolet Suburban was traveling northbound in the number two lane when it struck Jones near the intersection.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported, and authorities did not announce any arrests in connection with the incident.
The cause of the pedestrian collision remains under investigation as deputies continue to examine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
Deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene, secured the area, and conducted the on-scene investigation.
