A driver was traveling at an unsafe speed for wet conditions on Grimes Canyon Road when they lost control and collided with a sheriff's patrol vehicle

Moorpark, CA.- A Ventura County Sheriff's deputy was injured in a collision that took place near Moorpark early Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Grimes Canyon Road near the rock quarry at about 5:45 a.m.
A driver was traveling at an unsafe speed for wet conditions on Grimes Canyon Road when they lost control and collided with a sheriff's patrol vehicle.
The deputy and his K9 were reportedly heading to work at Fillmore station when they were hit.
The deputy sustained minor injuries.
A section of the roadway was shut down as authorities worked to clear the scene.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
